Why are double glazed windows better than single glazed windows?
Why are double glazed windows better than single glazed windows?

The main reason is the structure of the glass they adopted. Double glazed windows apply double glazing while single glazed windows use single glazing.

Here are the differences between single glazing and double glazing.
1. Single glazing

Single glazing, as the name implies, has only a single structure. The thickness is moderate and the firmness is relatively general. The performance in thermal insulation is far less effective than that of double glazing. If the single glazing is not attached with glass film, once it is broken, the whole glass will be broken, and there is a certain safety hazard. However, the single glazed window is still good in terms of value for money. For ordinary families, it is still the first choice for installation.

2. Double glazing
Double glazed is also called insulating glass. It consists of two pieces of glass sealed through effective sealing material and separated by spacer material. A desiccant that absorbs moisture is installed between the two pieces of glass, so as to ensure that the interior of the insulating glass is a dry air layer for a long time, and there is no moisture or dust.It is precise because of this structure that double glazing has better performance in thermal insulation and sound insulation. However, the price of double glazed is higher than that of single glazing.

And there is another glass that has a thinner structure but features better performance in thermal insulation, noise reduction,anti-condensation, etc than insulated glass.
That is the vacuum glass. Take Landvac vacuum glass as an example.

Thanks to the high vacuum chamber of the Landvac vacuum glass, which effectively blocks the thermal transmission, the thermal insulation performance of LandVac vacuum glazing is 2-4 times better than insulated glass and 6-10 times better than single pane glass. An 8.3 mm thick LandVac vacuum glazing has a better thermal insulation effect than the 1.5m thick brick wall.

So far, Landvac vacuum glazing has widely been applied in architecture, old house window replacement projects, etc.
